Nilai-Nilai Pendidikan Karakter dalam Novel Kembara Rindu Karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy
Abstract
Character education is an important thing that plays a role in the development of adolescent personality. The decline in the character of youth is a big problem for the country. This can be seen from a government survey which says that cases of teenagers who are pregnant out of wedlock are increasing. In addition, moral degradation is increasingly rampant and eliminates the indigenous culture in the country. These events are caused by the implementation of character material that is not optimal, misuse of technology in learning, promiscuity and so on. The purpose of this study was to determine the values of character education in a novel and the relevance of character education values to adolescent personality development. In this study the author uses a descriptive method, which is one of the research methods to be able to find, explain, and describe the value of character education in the novel Kembara Rindu. This research is in the form of a book literature study, which uses novels as the first data source, and adolescents as subjects in the study. The results of this study are that there are sixteen values of character education contained in the novel Kembara Rindu by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, including: honesty, compassion, courage, compassion, self-control, cooperation, hard work, religious, disciplined, creative, independent, curiosity, communicative, environmental care, social care and responsibility. From the value of character education, it has relevance to the development of adolescent personality.
