Peran Kepala Sekolah Dalam Meningkatkan Kinerja Guru di Madrasah Aliyah Sabilul Ulum Mayong Jepara
Abstract
The existence of a school principal is important in bringing the organization to the goals that have been set. The principal is the most responsible for the smooth running and success of the school, because he has the authority and duty to manage and improve the quality of the teachers' performance, because it is from the teachers that changes in the field of education will be achieved insha'Allah. Therefore, the role of the principal is needed in order to help teachers to be more competent. The purpose of this role is to improve the quality of teacher performance so that the implementation of learning in schools can become more focused and easier to realize their tasks so that the implementation can become more effective and efficient. This research was conducted at MA Sabilul Ulum Mayong. The research approach used is a qualitative approach that describes the results of research in the form of narratives or words. This research is a type of field research. The data sources in this research are principals and teachers. Data collection using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data validity techniques used are observation persistence and data triangulation. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and inference. The results showed that the role of the principal, among others, was as an educator, namely forming active and creative work groups, fostering the discipline of teachers and carrying out their duties related to learning activities, the role of the principal as a manager, namely by making indicators of success such as carrying out professional development activities through various education and training activities, either in school or outside school, the role of the principal as a motivator, including through providing motivation and appreciation (reward). The obstacles that affect the performance of teachers are such as the less than optimal management of teacher honoraria, the discipline of some teachers who are still lacking, the limited insight of teachers, the lack of some practical tools in teaching.
